Labor Day 2010

My friend at work told me about this really cool State Park called Chimney Bluffs. It is about an hour away and is right on the beach of Lake Ontario. The wind and glaciers have made crazy cliffs of sand and rocks. We hiked along the edge and had awesome views. Then decided to be adventurous and hike down to the beach. We both had some good butt slides but made it down unharmed. The beach was so cool. Since the rocks are from glaciers, they are all super smooth and round. We spent a lot of time skipping rocks and finding pretty ones. I pretty much decided I love the color scheme and one day will have a TV/family room in these colors.Afterwards, we drove to Sodus Point to walk around at the beach and lighthouse areas. We stopped in town at a greasy joint to split some french fries and a caramel shake. Yum!
After we got back, we headed over to a friends for a BBQ with some of Tyler's classmates. What a fun day! We loved having the whole day together and just relaxing.
Tyler finished his first week of surgery rotations, and still has 5 more to go. Poor thing, wakes up at 4:15 am every morning, to the hospital by 5:00 am and gets home about 7:00 pm. Sometimes with no lunch in between!

Fun, I want to go! Thanks for the idea. And for the caramel shake idea. No hike is complete without the likes of an ice creamish treat. Brilliant.
