Utah Trip

We had a week to go out to Utah before Tyler had to start 4th year. Before we left, Tyler was able to go fishing on Lake Ontario with a couple of his friends on a boat during some easy rotations. He caught this big Salmon. We couldn't eat it because of all the chemicals in the lake. Instead, he gave it to his friend, who is not afraid of the chemicals.
Later that week we caught a bat in the basement. It was caught on some sticky traps for some crickets. I freaked out and called Tyler at school telling him to come home right away because I heard the squeaking in basement. A week later we caught another bat, and this time Tyler took a picture. So sad!
After an eventful flight and loss of luggage (again), we arrived at my parents in Layton. Saturday my family had a baby shower for me and Emily. Here is me opening a present. I got tons of cute clothes and some blankets. Thanks everyone!!We got to see a lot of nieces and nephews. Here is our sweet nephew Brady. He is seriously the happiest baby I've ever seen!
We got to meet the newest member of the Melville family, Fredrick. He's only 2 weeks old and has tons of hair!I got to visit with my best friend from High School, Barbara. We're both are pregnant and having girls within 2 weeks of each other!
We went up to Bear Lake on Monday and stayed in a huge house. We were right on the lake shore with a grass hill going down to the lake. Tyler had the idea to buy some plastic and make a slip and slide down the hill. Everyone had a blast going down the slide and the adult men were just like little boys. Here is Popcan, Jace, and Tyler playing like crazies.
We also played trampoline dodgeball. After all, "if you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball." It was a bit more wild than the dodgeball we'd play at the Brady's!!The next day we went to Bear Lake North Beach to play. The water was only about 60 degrees, but the weather was nice. We got a boat for the afternoon, but could only go out for an hour before it got too windy.
What a beautiful place!
Of course we played games and relaxed a lot. Here is me playing Memory with Gauge and Anastasha. Somehow we ended up with zero pictures with Carrie's kids, but I played my fair share of "fireball" with Jace! The next day we went up to Minnetonka Caves. It is a 3000 foot long cave and is the biggest limestone cave in Idaho. The whole family before we went in.
It was really fun and really cool to see all the different geological formations in the cave.

The next day we went down to Cedar Mountain in southern Utah to go camping with Tyler's family. They have some property up there so Tyler and his siblings shot guns and rode four wheelers. I could not do any of this, nor did I want to shoot shotguns.
We had a fun time around the fire that night. It was a little chilly.
We think we heard a bear at about 4am that night. We heard grunting, so Luke and Kelsey took their dog and shotgun to go look for it. I don't know what they would have done if they found it, but thank goodness they didn't find it.

In St. George we got to see the Little Mermaid at Tuachan. It was so fun! The scene of the chef trying to cook Sebastian was hilarious, the costumes were great and the effects they did with water were awesome! Plays are much more my thing to do than camping and guns!!
It was a great trip and we loved seeing our families and getting in some Cafe Rio. Thanks for all the fun families! We miss the dry heat...
