Tyler's Week Off

We had a lovely week this week!!  Tyler had the week off between the 1st and 2nd years of his program and we loved having him around everyday!  We are proud of Tyler for doing great this year and working hard.  He did 13 different rotations, and can now discharge a patient in 5 minutes (according to him...).   One year down, 4 more to go!

Tuesday we went to Centennial Farm at the Fairgrounds to see the petting zoo.  Bridgette loved seeing the animals, but especially loved the roosters and sheep.

Baby chicks.
On Wednesday, we went to Catalina Island for the day.  Bridgette had fun riding the boat and trying to balance when it was bouncing on the waves.  We saw a small whale on the way over.  I took this cute one when Tyler and Bridgie were looking at the upcoming island.
We rented a double kayak for the day and paddled down the coast of the Island.  We loved it, and Bridgette did too.  She was in awe of everything and was pointing to all the boats and birds.  We saw 2 seals and a pelican tried to come hangout on our boat.  We snorkeled a little bit on a private cove.  Tyler saw a 6 foot shark!  After that, I was too scared to snorkel much.  Bridgette loved swimming in the ocean and tried to pop the bubbles.
We ate at a yummy pizza place, had a waffle cone to split and then headed back to catch the boat.  This is our family in front of a cute fountain in the town.
On the way back, we saw a pod of about 40 dolphins!  It was so cool.

Thursday and Friday we spent at the beach where Tyler was practicing his surfing.  He is getting better, but had lots of wipeouts!  Bridgette learned how to say "seashell" this week and has loved finding them all over.
Mmm, sandy watermelon!

Tyler starts back up on Monday, complete with new crazy hours and schedule.  We aren't planning on seeing him much, so if you want to come visit, you should!!
