Spring Break

We hit the beach with friends the first day of Spring break.  It was a perfect day after the clouds burned off.

He is so California.  Love this handsome dude.
Silly faces with Bridgette behind the camera.
My parents flew in Thursday to visit.  We packed tons of fun into a few days.  We spent the morning at the OC Zoo and played the rest of the day.  Friday we headed to Little Corona Beach to visit the tide pools.  We had good luck and saw lots of crabs and sea anemones.  Penny was really into the tide pools this time and didn't want to stop looking at them.

Our hilarious set up in the van.  Popcan could barely fit.  We definitely rearranged for our long drive the next day.
Saturday we drove up to Solvang, a Danish town up in the mountains by Santa Barbara.  My mom had visited there 30 years ago with college roommates and wanted to go back.  We walked around, tasted lots of pastries and went on the horse drawn carriage tour.
Tasting aebleskivers.  Bridgette and Harry loved them but Penny wouldn't even taste it!
Yum!!
Getting on the trolley.
Penny holding the reins.  She was so proud.

Bridgette's turn.  She kept asking the driver questions about the horses- names, ages, what they eat, etc...
Each kid got to choose a little beanie for their souvenir.  They are so obsessed with the Ty beanies and kept begging, so Dad gave in!
We celebrated Tyler's birthday a bit early so we could share cake.  The kids weren't about to allow Tyler to skip blowing out candles or being sung to.
We had a great break!  Kids had lots of fun with Grammy and Popcan and probably read "Thump, Thump, Thump" 20 times.
