George Eastman House

On Friday the Medical School sponsored a night for the 2nd year students at the George Eastman House. It is a huge mansion of a influential man in Rochester (founder of Kodak and also donated millions to the University of Rochester). We had a nice catered dinner along with a free tour of the house. It was beautiful! It makes me wish that we were able to see Rochester in it's "glory days", when things weren't all rundown.

The most interesting fact I learned is that Eastman developed his own calendar year system which has 13 28-day months rather than the traditional 12. He tried to sell this idea to the Capitol, and although they never accepted it, Kodak followed this system until 1989!

This is us in Tyler's favorite room- the billiard/man room. All wood walls, leather furniture, and scary animal furs everywhere. This is in front of the staircase in the entry way of the home. Gorgeous! All this for a single guy. If people come to visit, we're going here! (I hope you don't mind...)
