A Chicago Thanksgiving

We headed over to Chicago to visit Carrie and Ryan on Tuesday. We made great time and got there much earlier than expected.
Wednesday we went into Downtown, picked up Ryan from work and headed over to the Field Museum. It was so neat! We loved the Dinosaur exhibit, and I even found out that Tyler loved dinosaurs when he was little. (I had no idea, cute huh?)
This is with Jace in front of Sue, the most complete T-Rex skeleton discovered. Please don't mind the awkward pose, I was trying to make sure he didn't fall off the rail.
This is the huge skull. It is too heavy to put on the real skeleton, so it's upstairs.
Afterwards we went over to The Grand Lux and ate a delicious dinner, including desserts. The molten chocolate cake is to die for!We also did a little shopping walking up and down Michigan Ave, but it was so cold!
This is what I looked like on Thanksgiving:Yep, I woke up early throwing up, so I sent Tyler with everyone over to the Mitchells. They had a yummy dinner, including the pies Carrie and I made the night before. My dinner included a little Sprite, a graham cracker and some applesauce. Oh well, by the next day I felt much better. I don't know why I always get sick for holidays at other people's houses. I have yet to throw up at our house!

Friday we did a little shopping, went to Chick-fil-A for lunch, and then to a parade in downtown Naperville. It was so cold, but fun. We spent the rest of the night playing games and prepping for Eli's 1st birthday party the next day.

It was a little crazy in the morning, but somehow we got all the food and ourselves ready in time for the party. The cake turned out cute- an airplane. Here's the birthday boy with his cake.
Eating the cake. How do you not love that face?
Me with the cutie. It was so fun to be able to be there for Eli's first birthday.
Saturday night we went to Giordano's for Chicago-style pizza and stuffed ourselves with it. Yum!
We loved playing with the boys and can't wait to see them again over Christmas! I just realized we never got a picture with Carrie and Ryan- whoops! Thanks for having us, we had tons of fun!

I'm glad you guys had fun and that you weren't sick for very long! Did Tyler like dinosaurs as much as he liked white tigers?
