Christmas & New Years 2010

We spent Christmas this year in St. George at the Moore's new beautiful home. We had a great time! Tyler got to spend a few extra days with his family while I still had to work. I flew into Salt Lake a few days later and on my way down to St. George got to stop to visit Laura and new baby boy, Brady, in the hospital. What a cutie! I made this scrappy quilt for Brady. I meant to do just long strips, but I cut the fabric the wrong way, giving the quilt a very strange size, so I cut it up and came up with the striped blocks. It turned out pretty cute, although don't look too closely!
The day after I arrived we did a family temple trip to do baptisms . Even though it was early, it was so neat to go to the temple all together. This is picture is afterwards in front of one of my favorite temples, St. George.Isn't it gorgeous? This is with the early morning sun coming up.We had our yummy fancy dinner the day before Christmas Eve. We played lots of Murderer and Settlers. We of course hit Cafe Rio, and our favorite frozen yogurt place, Krave. Mmmm. One of our favorite things was just catching up with everyone.

Christmas Day, we got up early (thanks Brecken!) and opened presents, ate a huge breakfast and then saw Tangled later that day. So, so cute. I got a pressure canner which I am so excited to learn to use, some gift certificates, an exercise ball, and the Eclipse movie. Tyler got some basketball gear, a Bourne movie, grill cover, gift certificates, and bluetooth.

We headed up to Layton the next day to hang out with my family. On the way up we were able to visit my Grandma's new place in Salt Lake and Laura, Dave and Brady again. So sweet! I'm sad we're so far away.

The next day we went to a Jazz game, which was fun despite them losing and playing really crappy. Oh, well. And yes, I am STILL mourning the loss of Kyle Korver. It turned out being me, Grandma and all the boys.Go Jazz!We opened gifts the next morning. I got an apple peeler/corer, running gear, canning recipe book from my parents, and a cute necklace, wreath, and skirt from Carrie. Tyler got some running clothes, sweater, and tennis rackets. We are excited to use them come spring! No, I am not as bad as you think... Thanks everyone!

We did a day of skiing at Snowbasin, which was amazing, but so hard! My legs are NOT used to skiing. We each had a few good wipeouts, but nothing major. We had planned on going one more time but then this happened:Tyler got sick! We have the worst luck on vacations. Please don't invite us to your house for a holiday- one of us will get sick and throw up! Tyler spent all day New Year's Eve quarantined in our room while I went to lunch with my roommate, Katherine. We had tons of fun.
That night we had our traditional fondue party, including poppers, and my new favorite- family dance party! We delayed the pinata bashing since Anastasha was also sick. We went to an Argentine restaurant the next day (Tyler felt fine) for lunch. We went to Mexican for dinner and came home to do the pinata. It was hilarious! Jenny's kids have quite the swing.
We attempted a sisters picture with everyone's cute kids. This is the best one on my camera. Haha, I love Jace's face. Thanks everyone for our gifts, letting us come take over your houses, and for the delicious food. We love to visit Utah and I'm already looking forward to the summer. Oh dear...
