Long Shan Temple and Meeting the Ji Family

Saturday we got lucky and escaped the rain, so we headed to the Long Shan Temple.  This is the most important temple in Taiwan.  The temple itself was very intricate and ornate.
This is inside the temple.  There were lots of people there burning incense to their ancestors and giving sacrifices of food and flowers.
This is inside from where the people were worshiping and praying.
It was very interesting to compare this temple to our temples.  I did not feel the same sense of reverence or respect.  I saw people talking on cell phones and there was even a tour group going through it.  I definitely prefer and am grateful for the special and sacred environment our temples provide to us.

On Sunday we went to church to see the Ji Family, who Tyler baptized 7 years ago on his mission.  Brother Ji is now the bishop of the ward!  Talk about seeing the fruits of your labors!
This is the day their family was baptized.  The oldest daughter was away at college, and they have had another daughter who is 2.
It has been fun to see what Tyler's life was on his mission and to meet people he taught and worked with.
