Farewell Rochester

It is strange to say goodbye to the city we have called home for the last 4 years.  We have loved our time in Upstate NY and will miss it so much!!

This is our big moving truck.  A huge thank you to Tyler's family for driving across the country for us so I didn't have to with Bridgette.
Some of the things we will miss the most are :

-Friends!!!  We will miss having so many other young poor couples to do things with.  These people have felt like family since we're all so far away from home.  This is the group of girls who regularly attended our ward Recipe Swap.
-The Rochester Public Market, which we shopped at every Saturday for the last 4 years.  Oh, what are we going to do without our corn lady?
- Wegmans, the world's most amazing grocery store.
- Dinosaur BBQ
- Whipple Park, and especially Murlin Drive
- Groundhogs, cardinals, blue jays
- Lush green woods, beautiful spring flowers and gorgeous fall leaves
- Being close to Palmyra
- Running in Genesse Valley Park and Erie Canal trails with my running buddies

Since we've been in Rochester:
- I completed my Dietetic Internship in Buffalo
- Tyler had 3 eye injuries, and several other basketball ones
- Our Prius was totaled, bought a Hyundai Sonata
- I ran 2 half marathons
- Had a vegetable garden for 3 summers and learned lots about growing produce
- Traveled to NYC, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Toronto, Adirondacks, 1000 Islands, Taiwan and Tokyo
- I worked for almost 2 years, and we were able to pay off a big Grad Plus Loan of Tyler's, as well as student loans from my Internship
- Served in YM, Cub Scouts (both of us), taught Primary for 3 different ages, played piano for Primary
- Had the world's most adorable baby
- Tyler rotated in Albuquerque, New Mexico for 1 month while Bridgette and I hung out in Utah
- Tyler interviewed at 9 different programs for Orthopedics
- Tyler completed Medical School in the Top 10% of his class, with a distinction in research

So much has happened during our time in Rochester so it makes it hard to leave.  We are excited to get settled in our new home, but we'll always have a soft spot in our hearts for Rochester!

I enjoyed this post. Isn't it strange where life can take you in 4 years.
