Bridgette at 3 years:
39 inches tall- 95%-ile!
33 lbs-75%-ile
We knew this girl was tall, but not that tall! She loved showing the doctor what she could do and totally flipped out when they poked her finger. Typical Bridgette.
- She loves pretending play- making food in her kitchen (teriyaki sauce), taking her animals to the blue park in the stroller, going to the petting zoo, and most recently, pretending to be a cat named "Minnie". This week she crawled around Kohl's the entire time we were there, haha!
- Favorite foods: Peaches, green beans, peanut butter & jelly sandwiches- loves to know what kind of jelly she has, cheese, chicken, toast, kiwi, chocolate!, pink ice cream
- Loves reading books still. Favorites are books about dogs/cats, Gossie & Friends, Maisy Mouse
- Done with taking naps (sadly), resulting in a 6:30 bedtime. She still sleeps in her crib, so will play and sing for 1 hour of "nap" and then does quiet time for another hour in her chair reading book.
- Loves singing, dancing and doing tricks. Favorite songs: Twinkle, Twinkle, Mary had a little lamb, ABC's, Ice cream sundae, Days of the week, Wheels on the Bus, and Music Makers songs. She can sashay, gallop, hop on 1 foot, tries to skip, balance on 1 foot, somersaults, tip toes, twirls, etc. She says she "runs like a cheetah!"
-Starting to understand games- Go Fish, Memory, Candy Land
- Speaks very well- most strangers can understand her. Knows all her letters, their sounds, upper and lower-case, numbers, can count up to 20 (sometimes more), can name words that begin with a specific letter.
- Loves being a helper with Penelope- she stands on a stool by the changing table for diaper changes, getting her dressed, gives/takes away toys, gives her puffs, always needs to know what I'm feeding her, checks on her in her crib.
- She's timid in new situations and around strangers, but crazy and talkative in familiar ones.
- Loves to talk about princesses and listen to their music. She hasn't watched any movies except Frozen, but still loves them all!
- Loves Disneyland, jumping waves at the beach, swinging at the park, watching for dogs in the dog park on our walks, swimming at the pool.
- Says her own prayers- "Thank you for Mommy, Dad, Bridgette, Penny, Grammy, Popcan, Bronco, Grandma, Grandpa, Jesus, Amen" So sweet!
Penny at 9 months:
26 3/4 inches- 25%-ile
17 lbs 12 oz- 40%-ile
Penny is finally crawling! She mostly army crawls but can pick her belly up for a few movements forward.
Tries to pull herself up in her crib. We need to lower it before she figures it out!
Loves the door stops and the "boing" sound it makes.
She is obsessed with puffs and stuffs as many as she can into her mouth. She loves baby food meats (eww!) more than vegetables. Her top teeth have been trying to come in all month, but still haven't broken through yet. It has made for a cranky girl some days. Whenever we are out, I get stopped by at least 2 or 3 people to tell me how pretty Penny is. They love her big blue eyes and crazy fuzzy hair. She really is perfect!
After checkups, we met some friends at the Grand Opening of Chick-fil-a which is less than 1 mile away! Hooray! Seriously it's so exciting I can walk there and then go grab frozen yogurt. This might be a problem... Bridgette loved the big cow, and keeps talking about giving him a high five and Penelope started crying about 30 seconds after I snapped this picture. Too big I guess!
I figure it's never too young to start...
