We had a small family Christmas on Monday before we headed out to visit our family. We had a yummy fancy Christmas dinner and then opened our presents to each other.
Penny got a stuffed Penguin and a texture book. I have no pictures of her, which means she was probably crying most of the time! Tyler got some BYU gear, grill stuff, and new Crocs. I got pajamas, work out clothes and a big skillet.
Tuesday night we headed out to St. George, hoping the girls would sleep in the car and we'd miss traffic. We still had a difficult time getting out of the valley and sat in traffic for a while. Penny slept well but Bridgette woke up in Vegas and stayed awake the next 2 hours until we got to the Moore's. This was at midnight! Crazy girl. Needless to say, it took us all a few days to recover from the lack of sleep!
Christmas Eve was low-key and we mostly played at home. Penny learned how to climb stairs with Grandpa.
Christmas morning, the girls woke up at a great time- 8 am! Bridgette was excited (although it took her a while because all the people there made her nervous) to finally get her green scooter from Santa. She has already gotten so much better at riding it.
Penny loved her stand toy. She plays with it every day now, and loves when it plays La Cucaracha! Santa win!
Opening stockings. They got small toys and books and candy. Bridgette has loved the stamps from her stocking especially!
Penny loved Tigger and would lay on him to nuzzle his fur. She loves all snuggly things!
Bridgette loved helping Kylie pass out all the presents and took her job very seriously. Tyler received a TV sound system, i-phone speaker, air mattress pump, and an emergency kit. I got a food processor, skillet, running gloves, and chocolate.
Bridgette got a huge princess art set from Grandma and Grandpa which she used up half of the first day.
Penny in her cute new outfit. Penny also received balls, puppets, and clothes.
The girls got these darling Minnie Mouse jammies from Grandma and Grandpa.
Penny (in this case, Buttercup, Bridgette's pet puppy) licked the window everyday!
We had a great Christmas and loved being Santa to our two beautiful girls. It was really special watching the excited reactions from them! The rest of the time in St. George, we played games, saw the new Hunger Games movie, and the grown-up kids played laser tag. We had lots of fun with Tyler's family and it was great to have everyone together, even if it was just for a short time.
We also went to the Children's museum for a few hours. Both girls had a great time.
Flying the airplane. We headed up to Layton on Saturday morning earlier than planned to avoid the snowstorm. We made good time and were able to stop by the cemetery to visit Amelia. It was cold and the girls were cranky, but we quickly decorated her headstone and said Merry Christmas. It was wonderful to visit Amelia's grave together since Tyler hasn't had the chance to visit since we buried her.
