Time in Layton/New Years

The first day we arrived, we opened our presents.  Bridgette loved having Christmas again!  Both girls got a book, cute homemade mittens and a shirt from my parents.  Bridgette got a Mrs. Potato Head and Barbie from Tori, and Penny got a book and headband from Eli.  I received a big pot and sourdough start so I can do my own sourdough bread.  Mom gave me a lesson while we were there.  I also got more cooking equipment, a cute scarf, and Penzey's spices (yum!).  Tyler got dress clothes, a workout shirt, and grill spatula.  Thanks everyone!

While we were up in Layton, we all went to a jump place.  Bridgette loved it this time (her first time she stood in one place for 10 minutes) and was much more adventurous.
Tyler and the other brother-in-laws plus Gauge went skiing at Snowbasin.  He said it was the best snow he's ever skied.  I'm glad they could go enjoy it!
Tyler ended up driving back home on the 31st rather than Jan.1 to avoid a big snow storm.  Even though he left early, he still hit rare snow in California!  While he was back to work, the girls and I stayed a whole extra week to play.  Penny went sledding for the first time.  She liked it but only lasted about 20 minutes in the cold.
Bridgette LOVED it!  Popcan pulled her up the hill over and over again.

We had the famous New Years Eve Party.  Cheese and chocolate fondue, poppers with crowns, pinata and dance party!  Bridgette loved it all.  Here's Bridgette and Sophie with their crowns.
Penny loving the glow sticks at the dance party.
All the cousins before the pinata.  It's so hard to get everyone looking!
Of course, Bridgette was too timid to hit it.  Maybe next year?  At least she didn't cry once it broke open!
Blowing horns and noise makers.
Happy 2015!  2014 was a great year for us and we are hoping 2015 brings more blessings and joy to our family!
The next day we drove down to Provo to visit Grandma Tucker.  She loved meeting Penny and seeing how much Bridgette has grown up.  We chatted and then went to lunch.

Grandma Melville came over to play and visit.  Bridgette always loves playing with Nana.  They read lots of books together!

The next few days weren't quite as fun, since a 24 hour stomach bug was passed around.  Bridgette threw up 4 times and then was exhausted the rest of the day.  Luckily Penny and I didn't throw up, just felt yucky.
We didn't get to do as many things as we planned because many cousins were sick too, but we still had fun playing at Grammy and Popcan's house.  Since we've been home Bridgette regularly tells me that we don't have very many toys!  It's hard to compete with 20+ years of girl toy accumulation!
When we started to feel better, the weather warmed up and we could play outside!  Penny practiced standing.
The girls played in the wagon with Sophie.
Penny finally warmed up to my parents at the end of the week.

Jenny, Ana and I went to Laura's zumba class at the church.  The teacher let Bridgette borrow a jingly scarf to dance with.  She danced most of the class!
Cute and happier Penny Lou!
Penny was snuggling in Bronco's bed!  Eww!
We love visiting family!  Thanks for letting us stay so long!
