We had some visitors this year for the 4th of July- Tyler's parents and Brecken. The girls LOVED having more people to play and read books with. Friday we braved the crowds and headed to the beach. Although it took almost an hour to find a spot to park, the beach itself wasn't too crowded and the girls had a blast!
On the 4th, we walked to our church for the pancake breakfast. Bridgette had decorated her scooter to ride in the tiny parade, but scratched her cheek with her flag (oops!) and was grumpy the rest of the time, so we ended up leaving early. The girls wore their darling outfits from Grandma:
Haha, this is the face Penny made once she realized Tyler was taking her picture. It's so hard to be one!
Me and my cute girls!
That night we grilled and had a yummy dinner, then went to the Irvine fireworks afterwards. Penny ended up napping from 4-6pm, so we decided she'd be fine to go along. She did great; Bridgette, however, the was the disaster child! She whined the whole time and kept asking when it was going to be over. When we were walking back to the car, I asked her which fireworks were her favorite and her response was "I didn't like ANY of them!!" She fell asleep within 5 minutes of our 10 minute drive home. Poor thing, she was exhausted!
On our actual anniversary on Monday, we called it "Our Family's Birthday" and let the girls each blow out a candle after we sang "Happy Birthday" to us. Bridgette loved it.
Penny tried to eat it.
Sadly, we never took a picture of the two of us, but we were both there and are still happily married after 8 years!! Wow, we're getting old...
