Applesauce and Stitch

We had another interesting weekend! At the market on Saturday morning, I saw a half-bushel of apples for $3, so I decided I would try to make some applesauce. It was quite an adventure, but it turned out delicious. We were nervous the bottles didn't seal since it was the first time I had canned, but it worked! I am so excited and hopefully will do some other canning this summer. I got 9 pints of applesauce out of it. YUM!Later that day, Tyler played basketball with some guys from school, and came home with a cut on his eyelid. Naturally, he got hit in the face with someone's hand during the first 10 minutes of playing and stayed to play an hour and a half. We had a 4th year med student come take a look at it, and he said Tyler should go to the ER to at least get it cleaned out really well. I dropped Tyler off and the Dr. decided it should be sewn up so it could heal quicker since it was in a bad spot at risk for infection. For some reason it only needed 1 stitch, so I keep making jokes about how Tyler got stitch instead of stitches. It looks a little nasty but should heal quickly. He went the entire year without being hurt, and with one week left of classes, he manages to make it to the ER for the world's most expensive stitch.
