Tyler is officially half-way done with Medical School since he took his Step 1 board test last week. Yea! We cannot believe it has gone by so fast! But, it probably seems much faster to me than Tyler since I didn't have to do all the work. Just to give you an idea of how important this test was, here is a list of what Tyler did to prepare:
- Listened to recorded lectures from Dr. Goljan (Big wig in the med school world) since January. Went through them about 5 times. Yes, if you were wondering, they ARE really boring!
- Studied with a small group once a week for 4-5 hours since January
- Went through 2 Practice question test banks with about 4,000 questions!
- Read an entire Microbiology book during our NYC trip on Spring Break
- Read through "First Aid" (the bible of Med students) 4 times
- Read a Pathology book through 2 1/2 times
- Read several other random science and biochem books
- Went through pharmacology flash cards during breakfast since January
Tyler took the test last Tuesday and took it in about 6 hours. He felt really good about it and thinks he met his goal score, although he won't receive it for about 6 more weeks. We went to Red Robin after to celebrate his being done.

My sweet nerdy husband! So happy to be done and so embarrassed I made him pose with his balloon.

He has 1 more week of break then starts right into his 3rd year starting with the medicine rotation.
