Penny's Birthday

My sweet little girl is already 2!  We love Penny so much and can't believe how much personality is packed into one tiny body.
At her check-up, Penny was 33.5 inches-50%ile, and 25.2 lbs-50%ile.  She is growing great and especially is good at talking!  She already speaks in complete sentences.

We started her birthday out with donuts for breakfast.  It just doesn't get any cuter than this!

We went to her favorite place- Music Makers at the church where her friends sang to her and she got all shy.
Daddy had to work late, but I let her open the package from Grammy.  She was so excited for her Elmo book and Big Bird stuffed animal!  She had discovered them over Christmas while no one was watching closely and was sad when we took them away.  She totally remembered playing with them!
My mom also made these darling jammies.
Tyler ended up getting home at 7, so we let her open her presents.
She got a new Maisy book, a shirt, helmet and balance bike.
More excited about her new helmet than her bike!
 Figuring out how it works.
The next day we had her Elmo cake.  She loved it even though it didn't turned out like I had envisoned.
She had such a hard time blowing out the candles, got frustrated and in true Penny form, had a complete meltdown.  It was sad but hilarious at the same time.  She eventually figured it out and kept wanting to blow one out.
Penny adores Bridgette and usually calls her "Brishee-gurl".  They are best friends and get along well for the most part.  She is starting to like Harrison as well.  Some of the names she calls him are- Buddy-Loo, 'arrison, 'andsome guy and Buddy.

She is obsessed (still) with her Lambie and small red blankie.  We haven't dared take her binky away yet because she usually doesn't sleep through the night (sigh!).  She loves Elmo and Sesame Street characters, Maisy, Frozen, all Disney Princesses and watching Daniel the Tiger.  She LOVES nursery and talks about it, especially tells us about the songs they sing.  She is getting good at singing and participates in Family Night singing and our Music Makers.  She likes to read books, and is getting a good attention span because of Bridgette's choice of books.  She loves to color, and paint, although often it is on the floor or walls.  When I ask who colored on the floor, she will raise her hand and proudly yell "Me!".  Great, right?

She is very interested in Church, Jesus, the temple, and prayers.  She is usually the one who reminds us about prayers at dinner.  She likes to say them by herself, although they are usually "Dear Heavenly Fader, ... Amen".

She is mostly potty trained, and while she doesn't always tell me when she needs to go, she has a bladder of steel, so we can mostly avoid accidents.
She loves playing outside the most.  She just recently figured out how to swing on the "Monkey Bar".  She loves to ride her wiggle car around and goes super fast now.  I'm glad she got the helmet because she is getting crazy!
We love you Penny and are grateful for all the joy and sassiness you bring into our family!
