Valentines Day/ Presidents Day Weekend

Tyler had a rare 3 day weekend, so we took full advantage of glorious sunny weather and explored around Dana Point.  We did a short hike along the cliffs with spectacular views.
Both girls walked the whole mile hike by themselves.   We saw lots of cool birds, lizards and wildflowers.  We were hoping to see some whales since it's migrating season, but no luck there.
We ate lunch at a yummy local burger place, Schwack Burger.  Both girls were worn out and crashed on the way home.
Bridgette made homemade valentines for her class at school.  She did a great job!  She chose the picture, typed her name, cut out all the cards, glued them onto red paper and cut those out, as well as colored each one all by herself!  She spent over an hour making them.  I was so proud of her, as well as her teacher!
For our fancy family Valentine's dinner, I made homemade pasta.  Bridgette was my special helper and turned the crank while I fed the dough through.
We had butternut squash tortellini with browned butter sauce, Tuscan chicken with homemade fettuccine noodles, roasted asparagus and cantaloupe.  For dessert we had Black Tie cheesecake.  It all turned out yummy!  The girls were mostly excited to have something else to drink besides milk!
Monday we met friends at the beach since it was 85 degrees!  We borrowed a neighbor's pass and tried out Crystal Cove State Beach.  It was great.  It was Harrison's first trip to the beach and he did great.  He mostly played in the beach tent,
 napped in the tent,
or hung out in the carrier with me.
Tyler even got to surf for a bit.  I will never get sick of the beach and these girls had a blast playing in the waves and splashing!  What a great weekend!
