15 months

Penny turned 15 months this week.  She has changed so much these last few months and is growing up quickly!  

 

At her 15 month checkup this week, she was 29.5 inches tall, at the 25%-ile and 20 lbs 9 oz at the 15%-ile.  She's going to be our shrimpy!  You would never think she's so little by how much food this girl consumes or the jiggly fat on her bum and thighs when she runs away from you after the bath.

She has become very interested in coloring and tries to color everyday.  Most of the time, it doesn't make any marks or it's on the floor.  She also loves to take giant bites out of crayons, so we have to watch her closely!

I love her post-ponytail hair!

 One funny quirk about Penny is she prefers to sit on something soft rather than just sit on the floor.  She is constantly taking pillows off the couch to sit on to read books and eat snacks.

 She is great at following and imitating.  I was doing yoga one morning, and so Bridgette joined in and without any prompting, Penny's bum was up in the air too!

 She has recently started to fold her arms for prayers and even whispers a few nonsense things and then giggles when she's done.  So sweet!

She's much more adventurous than Bridgette was at this age and is already trying to climb things, run right into the ocean and ride big sister's scooter.  She keeps us busy keeping her safe!

She is barely beginning to talk and make a few animal sounds.  She says- mom, melmo (Elmo), dogga (doggy), uh-oh, ni-ni (night, night), and yea.  She hisses like a snake for most animal noises but also does a little roar for lions/tigers.  She can point to her belly button and nose.  She loves all animals, but especially dogs we see in our neighborhood.  She always waves to them and tries to pet them.

We are having so much fun watching Penny grow up and become a determined (and bossy) little person!
